CONFESSIONS OF A SECRET SHOPPER
BY RICHARD ROUSKA
“There is enough on Earth for everybody's need, but not enough for everybody's greed.” Gandhi.
Richard Rouska isn't interested in which way you will vote in the coming elections (providing you don't vote Conservative which is to say Labour aren't very conservative) or seek to sway you in that very strenuous task. "Again, make those X's look more natural...as if you mean it!"
Mr. Rouska ain't interested in saving your soul, shifting a million copies of this his latest tome and donating all proceeds (you can download for free so what proceeds) to a soup kitchen in Halifax. Worthy, but there are enough of those.
At 1977cc we're not really sure why he'd waste his time at all throwing his view out there. Pissing on the fires of Kapitalism will get you nowhere. He is entitled to his opinion as anyone and this is it: one collection of sentiments; one view; one person spitting venom at the system that dragged him up, slapped him around and told him to get a job! He's never forgiven the man and this is his revenge.
Embroil yourself in the fruits of Mr. Rouska's labour. Have a laff at his families expensive habits and our own compliance to a consumerist code that serves no one...least of all this Secret Shopper.
Extract: "Before we start attacking those who can’t help themselves; those who seek to preserve the status quo or just hang onto a job they once thought had value but now keeps them in a comfort zone they’re accustomed to ... we need to recognise that we’re all pretty base creatures. We all want to be loved and who can blame some for their actions. We also need to take a hard look at ourselves. We allow shit to happen. We are all complicit. We are often our own worst enemy. Somewhere down the line we got it into our silly little heads that such institutions could work in the way the instructions read on the tin. More fool us!"
Extract: "This is a world turned upside down and from the beginning of the world, the rich of all countries have been in a permanent state of conspiracy to keep down the poor. they continually plunder, debase and brutalise the poor. Make no bones about it; this is war, CLASS WAR!
Going Underground is enlivened with anecdotes of consumerist madness and is laced with vicious laugh out loud humour. If there is one message then it is...we must find a way to break free of the Kapitalist Kurse and the Kapitalist Kunts who blead us!
